pp 50- 60 Note impact on traffic congestion, noise and air pollution on a major city road integral to the city’s prosperity and the region’s main hospital and BioMedical Campus
Like Gt Northern Road, and Hills Road “Cambridge Carbuncle” Marque and Belvedere flats, this development is for balcony flat “amenity” next to a busy road.
Hill Partnership comment on the Gt Northern Road balcony flats: ‘From the outset Hill has sought to deliver a high quality living environment’. This does not reflect the feedback FeCRA have had from GNRA.
Hill’s Head of Planning told the Planning Committee the noise issue regarding the Great Northern Road balconies was not the developer’s fault, as the Council provides no guidelines on amenity. Hill have commented that CB1 Masterplan problems are nothing to do with them.
Note: The transport plans for 291 Hills Road have been approved by Highways. The same Highways team who approved transport plans for Great Northern Road.
